Reminder to sign up for the 5/31 meet:

- The 5/31 meet is open for entries on Swimtopia from Friday at 6am until Sunday at midnight. Your swimmers will not be allowed to swim in the meet if they are not signed up. If you have questions about which events you should select for your swimmers, please contact the coaches asap.

- Declare your kids for every meet, attending or not. If they are swimming, you need to sign up for volunteer positions. If there is a reason you cannot, email Dorothy Sturman at [email protected]. (If your child is only swimming in one event, please sign up to volunteer in the same half as your child's event. The 25 Free is in the first half.)

- For Swimtopia tech questions, contact Sonja Broderick at [email protected] or 602-430-6562.

- Please check https://foxcroft.swimtopia.com/swim-meet-101 to make sure your swimmers are prepared for our first meet. New families: If you have any questions, please ask your "buddy," the coaches or Kelley Haff. We know it can be overwhelming the first time!

Volunteering:

- If you haven't already, please go to http://certification.swimsail.org/ and take the short test to be certified for Timer/Runner/Records volunteer positions.

- We are also looking for a volunteer to fix or replace the record board at the pool. Please let Kelley Haff know if you are interested.

Practice times next week:

Monday, Memorial Day - 9am for 9&up only (no 8&under today)

Tuesday/Wednesday - 4:30 10&under and 5:30 11&up

Thursday - first swim meet at Poinsettia! Arrive by 4:30. More details will be sent next week.

Friday - our first Fun Friday will be at 8pm (they will be in the morning after school is out) on June 1st at the pool! We are having a Star Wars movie night with popcorn. Bring a chair. The pool will also be open for night swimming.

Swimmer's Ear Prevention:

- Mix 1 part white vinegar with 1 part rubbing alcohol. Place several drops in each ear after swimming (allow to go all the way in, then let it run back out). You can get glass dropper bottles from the drugstore or online. The alcohol helps to dry the ear and the vinegar lowers the pH so that bacteria doesn't grow. One difference between swimmer's ear and an inner ear infection is that the swimmer's ear hurts when the ear is wiggled.

***If you get "splashed," bring the sign back to practice for a treat! :)
