Registration Delayed and Other Swim Team Updates

Note: All 2019 swim team families are receiving this e-mail. Please forward to any new families who may want to join the team.

Registration - We are going to delay opening registration until we know more about COVID-19 and the effect it will have on our season. SAIL is taking direction from Governor McMaster and USA swimming which has cancelled all events until April 30. At this time, SAIL plans to start the season on time which means our first practice will be May 11. When we open registration, we will have a short window to collect registrations and fees in order to ensure all swimmers are properly insured. Please plan to register ASAP when we open it. No swimmer will be allowed to practice until registration is complete. We will continue to communicate through e-mail and our website: https://Foxcroft.swimtopia.com. Please contact Susan Tomforde with any questions at 843-319-4179 or [email protected].

SAIL Training for Certified Officials - All in-person Training has been Canceled! Training will be completed through swimtopia with videos and tests. Since training has been canceled, the SAIL Board has made the decision that all S&T, Starters, and Referees must get a 100% on the test. The test questions are being reviewed and will be written more clearly.

SAIL Scholarships are still being awarded this year even if the season is cancelled. The scholarship is $1000 for a boy and girl senior. The application can be found on sail.swimtopia.com. The scholarship essays are due May 29 by 5pm.

Sponsorships - Foxcroft Swim Team has sponsorship advertisement opportunities available for your business. Inquire about sponsorship levels and benefits at [email protected].

By Laws - As part of the registration process, we will be taking a vote on some updates to our Swim Team Bylaws. Attached, you will find a copy of our existing Bylaws (last modified in 2018) and a copy of our proposed bylaws. All changes are currently highlighted in yellow.

Summary of the changes by section:

8.3   Changed the wording of how High Point and Most Improved swimmers are chosen for clarity. Changed the description of how the Founder’s Award is chosen to match the way the award has been given for the last several years.

8.4   Allows for electronic consent of the handbook.

9.2   Allows the team to vote on changes to the ByLaws without a physical meeting.

If you have any questions or concerns, please direct them to Susan Tomforde at [email protected].
