Pelham Falls Meet Tomorrow
Meet #2 against Pelham Falls is tomorrow!
The meet sign-ups are also now open for the June 25th meet. Please sign up as soon as possible. As you choose your swimmer’s events for the last 3 dual meets, we wanted to make sure new families know about the Iron Man award. Many swimmers try to earn this award by attempting all 6 individual events in a meet at some point during the season (only 3 events are allowed per meet). If you are unsure whether your swimmer should attempt an event, please check with the coaches.
Meet Timeline:
- Set-up 4 PM – Please come help if you can. Feel free to set up your family area on the field at this time.
- Warm-up times: Group 3 - 4:50, Group 2 - 5:10, Group 1 - 5:30. Please plan to arrive at least 10 minutes before warm-up. OLDEST swimmers are warming-up FIRST again.
- Volunteers check-in by 5:30.
- Start-time: 6 PM
Swimtopia App / Event Numbers: Remember, your children may like to have their event numbers written on their arm in Sharpie. You can find their event numbers on the Swimtopia app.
Meet Policies: We will continue following the social distancing guidelines we put in place for last week’s meet, with a few changes Please read carefully:
- We have decided to change the flow of traffic around the deck. We will enter and exit through the shelter. There will be arrows indicating a one-way flow through the double gate. Please do not block the single gate or stand in the shelter.
- Feel free to set-up your family area closer to the playground, but we still ask that you be very mindful about spreading out and ensuring social distancing. Last week, many of the swimmers were closer together than they should have been. Please talk to your kids!
- If you have a tent or large umbrella, please bring it. Reserve the shade for people who do not have tents. Keep in mind that last week, the field was considerably more shady within an hour of set-up.
- There will still be no spectators allowed to set-up on the deck, but family is welcome to come on deck and watch their swimmer’s events.
- The HOA guest policy has remained limited to immediate family and out of town guests.
- If there is thunder or lightning, the meet will be delayed and families will have to seek shelter. All communication regarding delays will be through the Remind group text.
Concessions: We will have Pelican’s Snoballs, Sabrett hot dogs and nachos, Chick-Fil-A sandwiches and nuggets, and drinks in the parking lot.
Fox Friends: Please help your swimmers encourage their big/little foxes. They should try to talk to each other at some point during the meet and to cheer them on. Gifts are not required, but many like to give small items like a homemade card, lollipop, gum, snack, small bag of candy, or Gatorade.
Fun Friday this week: Fun Friday will be at 10 AM. We will be doing Tie-Dye. Swimmers need to bring a pre-washed white cotton t-shirt, shorts, etc. with them. A parent wearing gloves and a mask will serve donuts and drinks.
