2021 Pre-Season Announcements
Note: 2020 swim team families are receiving this email. Following 2021 registration, we will email the current team only. Please forward this email to any new families who may be interested in joining our team!
We are excited to share some details about the upcoming season.
Blue Division: Foxcroft will compete again in SAIL Blue Division with Silver Leaf, McCarter, Pelham Falls, and Pebble Creek/Half Mile Lake.
Coaches: Coach Kyle, Sam, and Clara are returning this season. Ella Rollins has joined our team as a Fish Coach. We will miss Coach Kasey this summer as she is working full time as a lab technician with the Blood Connection. She also recently got engaged to Braxton. Learn more about our coaches here.
Registration: Registration will open March 28 at https://foxcroft.swimtopia.com. Please register as soon as possible. This year, we will be giving our team t-shirts at the beginning of the season. You must register your swimmer by April 25 in order for them to receive a shirt.
Registration Fees: 1st Swimmer - $110, 2nd Swimmer - $95, 3rd Swimmer - $85, 4th+ Swimmer - $75. A $50 Family Booster Fee is applied to the first swimmer. If a family has no competitive team swimmers (only Fish), the booster fee is waived.
New Family Q&A: Join us Sunday, April 11 at 4 PM under the pool shelter.
Swimsuits: We have a new suit this year! Suits and caps will be ordered online at www.augustaswim.com. All orders must be placed by May 10.

We have sample suits now that you can borrow and try on at your convenience. They are located on Erin Chilton’s back porch (318 Hillsborough Drive) with a sign-out sheet. If you choose to “check out” a suit please return it quickly as other swimmers may need to try on a suit the same day.
Practices: The first day of practice (and tentative parent meeting) will be May 10. We are still working to determine how many practice groups we will have and what times they will start. Practices will be M-F in the afternoons May 10 - June 3. We will have morning and afternoon practices starting June 7.
Fish Team: Fish practice will start on June 7 Mon - Thur. It will conclude on July 15, and will not practice the week of July 5.
Swim Meets: Home and away meet locations have been chosen, with the option to change to virtual as we approach the dates:
- June 4 **FRIDAY** – Virtual vs. Poinsettia (followed by a pool party)
- June 10 – at Pelham Falls
- June 17 – home vs PCHM
- June 24 – at McCarter

Full Calendar: A full calendar of events and practices can be found on the meets and events tab of our website. There is an option to subscribe. We will regularly update this calendar as we have more information.
SAIL Officials Training Schedule: Most meet volunteer positions require an online certification (read a few pages and answer some questions). Some official positions (Stroke & Turn, Starter, Referee, and Clerk of Course) also require attending a training session. This year, SAIL intends to hold all training via Zoom. The schedule starts May 6, and officials must certify by May 27. The training schedule as well as a description of all volunteer positions is posted in the volunteer section of our website. If you have any questions or would like to try a new position this year, please contact Kelly Keever at [email protected].
COVID Policies: Short answer: we just don’t know yet. We are planning and hoping for as much "normal" as possible this year. We expect to keep all events outdoors. We are planning for most of our meets to be in-person, but this could change based on community spread data, size of teams, pool and deck capacity, and other factors. We decided to make our first meet against Poinsettia virtual for a number of reasons: it is our out of division meet, school is still in session, it is graduation week, and Poinsettia has a small deck and team tent space. We do not yet know how things will look at meets. There will likely be restrictions of spectators on deck, as well as other possible safety requirements around serving food and crowded situations. We will follow CDC and DHEC guidelines and quarantine rules as they are updated this spring and summer. No swimmers will be allowed to participate if they are sick or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive to COVID-19. We are excited for this season, and our goal is to make it as traditional as possible.
