Meet Results and Sign up for next week

Thank you everyone for a great first swim meet, and a big thank you to all our volunteers.

Meet Results: We won the meet with 448 points vs Poinsettia’s 212! This meet was out-of dIvision, and Poinsettia is a Division higher than us. The swimmers had 193 best times, broke 7 pool records (details below), won 56 of the 80 events, and 13 out of 20 relays were in the top 10 fastest relays we’ve had by age group in the last 5 years.

Congratulations to this week’s Swimmers of the Week: These swimmers were recognized for their hard work and good attitudes. They will receive a gift card to TCBY.

  • 10&Under Girl: Mayes Burton, 10&Under Boy: Ben Brown
  • 11&Up Girl: Aubri Bateman, 11&Up Boy: Thompson Haff

Sign up now for the June 10th Meet: You must RSVP by Sunday at midnight even if you are not attending the meet! Parents will select their own job assignments this week, and we ask all families to sign up for two shifts. If you have a conflict, please let Kelly Keever know. The meet will be at Pelham Falls. We will have more details next week, but historically our arrival time for away meets has been 4:30 PM, so please plan accordingly.

Divisionals Declaration: When you RSVP for the next meet, please also let us know your intentions for swimming at Divisionals, Championships, and Classics. There is an event on the Meet & RSVP Calendar dated June 30, but please fill it out ASAP. There are instructions on the event explaining how to fill it out. There is also more information below about these meets for new families. Please fill out your intentions now, but there will be time to change your intentions for C&C without incurring fees.

Practice Schedule for next week: Our summer schedule starts with 10&Under at 8 AM and 4 PM, 11&Up at 9 AM and 5 PM, Fish at 10:15 AM. Remember, you can view/subscribe to the full calendar on our website here.

Photos from the Meet: Our team photographer, Caroline Robertson, uploads our photos from each meet to our private Facebook page (Foxcroft Swim Team). Request access if you are not already a member.

T-shirts: Our Foxwear coordinators wrote names in all the t-shirts, but unfortunately some of them have washed out. Please check your swimmers’ t-shirts, and re-write their names if they have washed out. We’ve already had some shirts in the lost-and-found.

Swimmers’ Times: You can view your swimmers’ times from the meet on the Swimtopia app under “Events”. Foxcroft has a 25 yard pool, but most teams in SAIL have a 25 meter pool (about 7 feet longer). The result times are displaying differently than last year, but are still causing confusion. Our times appear faster than the time that is used to rank the swimmers in the meet. The computer converts our time into a meter time. In the app, if you click on your swimmer’s name under “Members” and choose “Swim History”, you should be able to view all of your child’s times, see what date s/he swam their personal best, and what the times are in yards and meters. Additionally, The Mobile Pro App updates live as times are entered during the meet. It costs $2/mo for the extra features, and you can cancel at the end of the season.

What are Divisionals and C&C? Why do we have to declare our intentions? Divisionals is a split meet. The 11&ups will swim on Friday, July 9, and the 10&unders will swim Saturday, July 10th. Based on Divisionals results, the top 40 swimmers for each event across SAIL are invited to swim at C&C. Championships is on Saturday, July 17 and Classics is on Sunday, July 18.

All Competitive Team swimmers are encouraged to swim in Divisionals. We have social activities throughout the week leading up to the meet, and the Divisionals Fairies will deliver a special gift to all attendees. It is necessary for us to know who is planning to swim so that we can prepare these gifts. Only qualifying swimmers will receive an invitation for C&C, however swimmers must declare their intention to swim prior to the Divisionals meet. If a swimmer says they are available for C&C, but then chooses not to swim, SAIL charges hefty scratch fees which will be passed on to the family.

New Records: Foxcroft records can only be broken in our pool. The swimmers broke 7 records last night during the first meet of the season!
