July 1 Meet Information
Divisionals Needs: After Thursday, our next meet is Divisionals. We have signed your swimmers up for you based on your Intentions, and the coaches will choose their events. Kelly Keever has already assigned and contacted certified officials who are working, but Foxcroft needs to provide a few more volunteers. If you are available, please sign up to volunteer by Tuesday night! The volunteer sign-ups for Friday night and Saturday morning are listed as separate meets on Swimtopia.
This Week’s Meet: This is our final dual meet, and it is at home against Silverleaf.
When: July 1st, starts 5:30 PM
- Set-up: 2:00 - We need help setting up for the meet. It is a huge effort to rearrange the pool deck, set-up concessions, and get everything ready for our guests. This week we will also need help setting up our large white team tent.
- Swimmer Arrival Time: 4:00
- Warm Up Time: 4:15 (10&Under), 4:30 (11&Up) - Parents of young swimmers need to stay with their kids after the warm-up. Coaches will not be able to supervise swimmers outside the pool deck.
- First half volunteers: Arrive no later than 5:00 PM. Volunteers will meet at the front entrance. Find Kelly Keever (864-354-7561) to check in.
- Officials Meeting: 5:15
- The pool will again stay open until 10 PM! We hope you will stay and swim after the deck is put back in order.
Swimmer’s Area: We reserve the area closest to the playground in the shade for our guests. Foxcroft will set up in the field (towards the basketball courts).
Parking: Please do not park in the pool parking lot as we reserve the entire lot for our guests. We can use the bicycle parking and golf cart parking until they are full, but please walk from home or park in a friend’s driveway. If you do park on the road, please park some distance away, follow no parking signs, and stay on one side of the road.
Concessions:We will have traditional concessions and Chick-Fil-A nuggets and Sandwiches in the shelter. Moe’s (tacos, quesadillas, burritos) and the Chocolate Art Works (dessert) Food Trucks will be in the parking lot until 9:30 PM.
Additional Meet Information:
- Please remind your swimmers to rest, stay in the team area, and clean up after themselves.
- Swimmers need to check back with tent parents as soon as possible after each event. They must stop at each Clerk of Course check point prior to their swims.
- If you witness any unsportsmanlike conduct, please feel free to correct behavior. If needed, ask a Board Member, Coach, or referee for assistance.
- Please write your swimmers' event numbers on their arms before the meet. Writing their name on their back or shoulder is also helpful for tent parents.
- The playground is off limits to swimmers during meets.
- We will again allow standing spectators on deck, but no chairs. There will be a grandparent seating area near the baby pool.
- Weather Delays: All communication will be through the Remind group text.
- Fox Friends: Remember to support your Fox Friend.
- It is against SAIL rules to consume alcohol during a swim meet, but HOA rules take over after the meet has ended and the deck has been put back together.
- Heat sheets will be given to volunteers who need them, we will send a .pdf copy by email, and there will be some printed copies available at the concession stand for $1.
Fun Friday: Join us at the shelter at 9:30 AM for donuts, ribbons, and Battle of the Packs. Teams will work together to complete as many Minute-To-Win-It style tasks as possible in a time limit. Tasks will be in the pool and on the field, and teams will be made up of younger and older swimmers. Please encourage your older swimmers to attend!
Championships and Classics: Remember, any changes to C&C Intentions between now and the start of Divisionals must be sent to Emelyn Shabel (951-833-2077) or scratch fees will be passed on to the families.
