Silverleaf Meet Results & Divisionals Week Updates

Thank you all so much for making our final dual meet a success. Once again, we overheard so many compliments on the way we run our meets (layout of our pool and field, food trucks, starter music, efficient clerk of course, hospitality, etc). Our Swim Team truly is a large part of what makes Foxcroft such a desirable place to live!

Meet Results: We have officially won all 5 of our dual meets! The final score was Foxcroft 381, Silverleaf 287. Four new pool records were sent. The results of the parent, coach, swimmer relay were indeterminate.

Swimmers of the Week: These swimmers (pictured below) were recognized for their hard work and good attitudes. They will receive a gift card to TCBY as well as a chance to wear the gold cap.

  • 10&Under Girl: Kennady Rudinsky, 10&Under Boy: Ford Stepp
  • 11&Up Girl: Sophie Haff, 11&Up Boy: Anderson Boetsch

Divisionals Theme: Foxcroft’s 2021 Divisionals Theme is Safari. The meets on Friday and Saturday will both start with a parade of teams around the pool deck. Every year, swimmers dress up according to the theme for the parade, so start collecting items for a costume - creativity is the goal! We also invite you to decorate your car/golf cart in accordance with the theme for the neighborhood parade on Monday night.

Bonus Practices: The coaches would like to offer extra practices this weekend for all swimmers who are available. They are tentatively set for 4 PM on Saturday and 9 AM on Sunday, pending HOA approval. Final communication by Remind text.

Divisionals Week: There are a few updates and changes to the Divisionals week schedule. The team google calendar is the best place to keep track of these updates.

  • Practice at Silverleaf on Tuesday will now start at 6:30 PM. 11&up will practice at 6:30, 10&Under will practice at 7:00. Please arrive 15 minutes early.
  • We are showing two different outdoor movies on Tuesday night. They will start at 8:45 PM (sunset). For the younger kids, we will be showing The Lion King (1994, G, 88 min) on the field. Older kids are invited to watch Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017, PG-13, 1 hr 59 min) in the Haff’s backyard (21 Red Fox Ct). Bring chairs.
  • Here is the link to register for Wednesday at Spare Time.
  • Here is the link to sign up to bring food Thursday to Pasta Pump Up.
  • Many details will be coming regarding the meets, but please plan to arrive by 2:00 on Friday afternoon (11&Up) and 8:10 on Saturday morning (10&Under).
  • Bloody Sundae - We do not expect to receive the list of C&C qualifiers from SAIL early enough to host our traditional Bloody Sundae reveal. On Sunday night (July 11), we will email a list of qualifiers. All qualified swimmers will come to the pool on Monday morning at 8:30 for practice and breakfast. They will find out which meets and events they will be swimming at breakfast.
  • Ice Cream Social - All swimmers are invited to an ice cream social on Sunday, July 18 at 8 PM to celebrate the C&C swimmers as they receive their awards. (Reminder: the banquet is earlier this year. It will be on Tuesday, July 13.)

Swimmer’s Ear Prevention: We have had a lot of cases of swimmer’s ear recently. Please be diligent about caring for those ears over the next week. We don’t want anyone to miss out on the Divisionals activities or meet! Prevention tips can be found here.

New Records: Foxcroft records can only be broken in our pool. The swimmers broke 4 records last night. In addition to our record board at the pool, records are maintained on our Swimtopia webpage.
