First Meet, Covid Update, FOXwear and more

First Meet Sign-up and Volunteers: Reminder, all Certified Officials needed to take the SAIL tests already. Please contact our volunteer coordinator, Ashley Wooten, with any concerns ([email protected]). Other volunteers, if you have not taken the timer test yet, please do so today! The RSVP for our first meet against PMP will open this Thursday, May 26 at 5 PM and must be completed by Sunday night. At that time, you will accept/decline your swimmer(s) as well as choose your volunteer roles. Ashley has to manually approve you in Swimtopia after you pass the tests. You will not be able to sign-up for the roles you want until she has done this. Please give her time to get this done! Instructions for signing up for a meet can be found here. COVID Update: Covid cases are again on the rise in Greenville, including a few active infections on our team. The most recent CDC guidelines can be found on the CDC website. The board members and coaches of the Foxcroft Swim Team do not want to monitor each situation, but please do let us know if your swimmer has Covid! We ask that you familiarize yourself with the CDC guidelines, and follow them as closely as possible. If your child is sick, please keep them home and consider Covid testing them. For positive Covid-19 infections, please note that the first day of symptoms (or a positive test) is counted as Day 0. Swimmers may return to practice on Day 6 if symptoms have significantly improved and they are fever-free without medication for 24 hours. For help calculating the return date, please use the CDC Calculator. We will not require swimmers to wear a mask as they can not be worn in the water and we are outside. If your child has a hard time keeping space from his/her friends, please consider having them wear a mask until they get in the water. If we have a swim meet during days 6-10, please consider having your child wear a mask if they want to sit in the team tent. If the HOA chooses to update these guidelines after the pool opens, we will adjust our team expectations accordingly.

FOXwear orders, Team Shirts, and Caps: Team items will be distributed next week between practices during Tuesday Treats (May 31). A big thank you to Catherine Boetsch for all her work with FOXwear and to all of you for your support! We raised $526 for our team! If your swimmer is unable to attend practice Tuesday, please contact Catherine Boetsch at [email protected] to arrange pickup by June 2nd. Swimmers will wear their team shirt to the meet on June 3.

Grandparent Sponsors: Don’t forget your Grandparent Letters. If you have any grandparents that still want to contribute, please use the Venmo QR Code or bring check/cash to LIz Shafer.

Big Foxes: If you have not introduced yourself to your Little Fox, please try to go to practice early one day this week to meet them. Here is the list of big/little foxes and the suggested ways to interact with them each week. Remember, the focus is relationships not gifts/candy.

Blocks Update: The vendor has agreed to repair our blocks with no additional cost to Foxcroft. The parts are tentatively scheduled to ship by June 13. We are also coordinating with PMP (host of our first meet), and hope to have a practice at their pool to familiarize swimmers with diving off blocks prior to the meet.

Thank you and Go FOX!
