June 3rd Meet Details

Quick Reminders: Please pick up FOXwear, team shirts and swim caps (if ordered) between practices this afternoon. We have an extra starting blocks practice at PMP from 6:45 - 7:15 tonight. PMP has asked that this practice be reserved for swimmers who were unable to attend last week.

This Week’s Meet: Our First Meet is Friday against PMP (Pilgrim's Point, Merrifield Park, Pelham Estates)! Get Ready and Go FOX!

Where: PMP Pool, 205 Pilgrims Point Rd Greenville SC 29615

When: June 3rd, starts 5:30 PM

  • Swimmer Arrival Time: 4:30
  • Warm Up Time: 4:45 (10&Under), 5:00 (11&Up)
  • First half volunteers: Arrive no later than 5:00 PM. All volunteers should find Ashley Wooten to check in. She will be at a picnic table behind the lap pool up against the fence. (Reminder: Volunteer assignments can be viewed in the Swimtopia App).
  • Officials Meeting: All officials will have a meeting at 4:45 pm at the Starters table. Please note the earlier time!
  • Additional Volunteer Information: All TIMERS will meet at 5:10 pm to do watch checks and a brief meeting. By 5:20 pm all volunteers will be in their designated stations, and relays will be lining up. 2nd half volunteers need to begin checking in during Event #38 and must be in place at the start of the 2nd half

Parking: PMP has a paved lot and will utilize part of their field for parking if weather allows. They have ONE handicap space available for Foxcroft, and will have parking attendants to guide cars.

Swimmer Areas: Please see the attached map of PMP. We will need to provide our own tents. Parents willing to provide a tent, please notify Kathryn Means (text: 864-415-5675), so we can be sure we have enough. PMP recommends bringing bug spray. Please instruct children to stay away from the creek and the fencing where the apartment complex is. PMP also asks that ALL 8 & Under swimmers have their names written on the back of their left shoulder with Last Name, First Initial.

Spectators:There will be areas on the lap pool deck available for spectating ONLY(See map). These will be roped off areas, and no chairs may be placed here. Parents are asked to utilize that for viewing their swimmers only, and then allow for others to come in to watch when they are done. They will have areas on the deck where chairs can be set up, but these are first come first serve. Please do not move any pool chairs or lounge chairs for personal use. Please do not go inside the baby pool area. There is a grassy hill overlooking the pool where you may set up chairs to watch. Parents can stand and/or place their chairs anywhere outside of the pool deck area, but please avoid the tennis courts. Please remember tent parents/field hands are primarily responsible for getting swimmers ready for their events, not babysitting. Please keep this in mind when you decide where to sit.

Concessions:There will be concessions available for purchase. They accept cash and Venmo for payments. PMP will have Chick Fil A., chips, candy, and drinks and Kona Ice will be available for purchase at their truck.

Heat Sheet: There will be no printed sheets, but we expect to have an electronic copy of the heat sheet to share soon.

What to Bring:

  • Goggles
  • Caps (must be Foxcroft or plain/solid cap)
  • Snacks and plenty of water!
  • Towel
  • Chair

For more information on suggested items to bring, see our Swim Meet 101

Swimtopia App / Event Numbers: You can view your children’s events in the Swimtopia App. Scroll down to events, and click on this week’s meet. Many children like to have their event numbers written on their arm in Sharpie.

Pool Length: Like most SAIL teams, PMP has a 25 meter pool. This is about 7 feet longer than our pool. Swimmer’s times WILL be slower than when they swim in our pool. This does not mean they have actually added time. Converted times can be found in Swimtopia.

Fox Friends:Please help your swimmers encourage their big/little foxes. They should try to talk to each other at some point during the meet and to cheer them on. Gifts are not required, but many like to give small items like a homemade card, lollipop, gum, snack, or Gatorade. Remember, we have suggestions for each week on our Big Fox Ideas page. Go here for the list of Fox Friends.

Additional Meet Reminders:

  • Swimmers should wear their 2022 Foxcroft T-shirts to the meet. Parents who are not deck officials, we hope to see lots of Foxwear!
  • Please remind your swimmers how important it is to stay in the team area so that our volunteers can locate them for their events. Tent Parents are mainly responsible for getting swimmers for their events, not babysitting.
  • Please make sure to keep the area clean and swimmer’s items in their bags. We need everyone to throw their trash away.
  • The meet will proceed in the rain, but will be postponed for thunder or lightning. Swimmers may be sent to cars to wait out a storm. All communication regarding delays will be through the Remind group text.
  • It is against SAIL rules to consume alcohol during a swim meet. No glass containers, please.
  • Parents and swimmers should have the expectation that relay line-ups may have last minute changes.

Fun Friday: There will be no Fun Friday this week. We hope you can join us after the meet at Rapid Fire Pizza. Ribbons will be handed out and swimmers of the week will be announced on Monday morning between practices. Swimmers of the week will receive a gold cap. They are invited to wear the cap during practices and at the following week’s swim meet. We will collect the cap after the meet.

June 9th Meet Sign-Up: Sign-ups for next week’s meet against Pelham Falls will open on Wednesday night at 6 PM. The deadline for swimmer entries is now 6 PM on Sunday nights to give the coaches more time (this will be our schedule going forward). The sooner you register the better for both the coaches and getting your first-choice volunteer job.

We look forward to seeing everyone on Friday. Go Fox!
