Important: Divisionals Meet Information
Divisionals Week Is Here!
Everything you need to know about the Divisionals Meets at Woody Creek on Friday, July 7th, (11+) and Saturday, July 8th, (10&U) can be found in the attached document. Please read it carefully as it contains arrival times, parade information, drop off location (different from the parking lot), and more.
Remember, The team google calendar has all practices and events. The Divisionals Activities calendar is also attached for your reference. If you have not already done so, sign up for Pasta Pump Up and Breakfast of Champions now.
ARRIVAL TIMES:
- Friday, (11&Up), arrive at 3:00 PM for 3:20 warm ups.
- Saturday, (10&Under), arrive at 7:30 AM for 7:50 warm ups.
ALL OTHER DETAILS REGARDING THE MEETS CAN BE FOUND IN THE ATTACHED WHITE DIVISION DOCUMENT.
Divisionals Theme: Remember our theme is Rockin’ Foxes! Swimmers will dress up according to the theme for the parade of teams at Divisionals. Keep it simple - medley relays start immediately after the parade.
Heat Sheet Contest: Swimmers are invited to submit an original design for the Division Meet Heat Sheet cover. Coaches will bring designs (with swimmer name and age on it) to the Seeding Meeting, Wednesday, July 5th, at 7:00 pm, and a design will be chosen for the Friday and Saturday heat sheets.
The two winners will receive $25!
RULES: Use white copy paper and no computer designs. A change from previous years: you may use color! Include all 5 team names or none. White Division Teams: Silverleaf Swordfish, Pelham Falls Piranhas, Foxcroft Foxes, PMP Piranhas, and Woody Creek Waves. Submit designs to Ella by Wednesday’s practice.
A few extra items for the Divisionals Meet:
Caps - All swim caps must be either a Foxcroft team cap (current or old) or a solid-color cap. Officials will DQ immediately for wearing the wrong cap.
Shoes - Please be sure to wear shoes in the field.
Your swimmers’ events and volunteer assignments are visible in the Swimtopia App.
Fox Friends: Please remember your Big or Little Fox Friend during Divisionals. Big Fox Friends should try to come for part of the meet Saturday morning to cheer on their Little Fox. If they are unable to connect at the meet, small gifts and words of encouragement can be delivered at Pasta Pump Up.
Championships and Classics: Remember, any changes to C&C Intentions between now and the start of Divisionals must be sent to Kristin Rollins (864-567-3933) or scratch fees will be passed on to the families. For anyone who is new to Championships & Classics, these meets are for the top swimmers in SAIL (all divisions), based on times recorded at Divisionals. Classics represents the top 16 swimmers in every event and Championships represents swimmers ranked 17 – 40. Don’t let your swimmers be disheartened if they don’t make it! With over 4,000 swimmers in SAIL, it is very difficult to qualify for these meets and often takes years of practice!
C&C Reveal: On Sunday night (July 9th), we will email a list of qualifiers so that parents can choose to discuss it with their swimmers. Qualifying swimmers will come to the pool on Monday morning at 9:00 AM for practice followed by the Breakfast of Champions at 10 AM to celebrate. All swimmers are invited to attend the breakfast! Please join us at the shelter at 10! C&C qualifiers will find out which meets and events they will be swimming at the breakfast. Let it be a surprise and don’t check Swimtopia for the events!
C&C and Shirt Orders: Qualifying swimmers have the opportunity to order special t-shirts with a custom saying on the back. The shirts will be ordered online, and the deadline is usually mid-day Monday. Swimmers who will be swimming in one meet, will order the shirt for that meet. Swimmers who will be swimming in both meets usually purchase a Classics shirt (although they are welcome to buy both). The saying on the back of the shirt can be as simple as your last name, can be something clever/funny, can be a swimming pun – anything you want! If you think you might have a swimmer in one of the C&C meets (or just want to dream a little), think about what you’d like on the back of the shirt. A few examples from the past:
Kat Ingram: FREE AT LAST
Nicholas Franchina: IN THE NICK OF TIME
Boys 9-10 Relay: STRENGTH IN NUMBERS
Sam Wingard: I’M SO GOOD YOUR MOM CHEERS FOR ME
Foster Haff (2020): WASH YOUR HANDS YOU FILTHY ANIMAL
Banquet: The banquet will be held on the field the Monday after Divisionals (July 10th) with a rain date on the 11th. It will begin promptly at 6:00 PM. Once awards have been handed out to all 10&unders, we will take a quick break for everyone to get dessert (and for those with little ones who need to eat and make a quick exit to get to bed!) before finishing up with the 11&Ups. We are looking forward to celebrating all the kids and a great season!
GO FOX!
