Intents to Swim Reports- Please read carefully!

Thank you everyone for completing your intentions to swim in Divisionals, Championships, and Classics. Attached are three reports summarizing everyone’s intentions. Please check these reports for accuracy. If there are any mistakes, please respond to me - Kristin Rollins ([email protected]) - by 12 noon THIS SATURDAY, 6/22.

How to read the reports:

  • Open each individual report (there are a total of 3), making note of the name of the report.  (The file name is the corresponding meet)
  • If your child’s name is listed on a report, you have indicated that they are available to swim in THAT SPECIFIC meet.
  • If your child’s name is NOT listed on a report, that means you have indicated that they are NOT available to swim in that meet.

After Sunday, until the start of Divisionals, any change requests must be submitted to me  so that I can process the proper SAIL paperwork. After the Divisionals meet begins, a swimmer who scratches from C&C without a valid reason will receive a $50 fine per individual event and $100 for relays.

Remember, everyone who signed up for Divisionals WILL swim in the Divisionals meet.  Coaches will be assigning individual events for Divisionals.  Championships and Classics intentions let SAIL know you are able and available to swim in the C & C meet, but participants are chosen based on times in all of the divisional meets across the city.

Understanding Championships and Classics:

By event, the fastest available 16 swimmers in the entire county go to Classics, the next 24 go to Championships. The 2024 rankings are updated every week in the Greenville Journal.  These rankings give a good idea of how competitive your swimmer is across the SAIL, but only the times earned in Divisionals meets count for an invitation to C&C. A swimmer ranked 60 or above has a good chance of earning a spot, but we won’t know until the Sunday after Divisionals.

I know this can be confusing- especially for new swimmers. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with questions

Thanks and GO FOX!
