Meet Results and Divisionals Week Activities
It is hard to believe we only have one week left in this very unusual 2020 Swim Team Season.
Meet Results: We won all 4 of our meets this year, which is super exciting as we head into Divisionals. The final score last night was 378 to 283. 3 new pool records were set.

Congratulations to this week’s Swimmers of the Week:
10&Under Girl: Emma Kate Camp, 10&Under Boy: Harry Burns
11&Up Girl: Sara Kate Whitehead, 11&Up Boy: Reynolds Chilton
Practice Schedule:
- Practice on Sunday, July 12 at the same times as this week (9:15AM, 10:00 AM, 9:00 PM).
- Normal AM/PM practice times Monday - Thursday. Tuesday PM, Group 3 will practice 7:45-8:45.
- AM practice only on Friday (no Fun Friday since there is no Thursday meet)
Divisionals Theme: The coaches revealed our Divisionals theme last night: Harry Potter. We will have a parade around the field or pool on Saturday morning to kick off the Divisionals Meet. Every year, swimmers dress up according to the theme for the parade. Don’t worry if you don’t have a full costume. We’re going for creativity. A pair of glasses, a lightning bolt on the forehead, and a stick for a wand will transform anyone into Harry. Some additional ideas with links:
- Turn an oversized t-shirt into a robe.
- Homemade wands: Here or Here
- House tie bookmarks (add a ribbon and turn it into a tie):
Divisionals Week Social Calendar: Every year we have special activities to celebrate Divisionals. We are so thankful to our social chairs for coming up with some new, creative, social distance friendly ideas. Masks are encouraged for all, required for volunteers.
- Monday: Car Parade
- 7 PM Car/Golf cart parade through the neighborhood to kick off Divisionals week. Decorate your vehicle and meet in the parking lot at 7 PM for the parade. Swimmers are invited to wear their Tie Dye Shirts. Neighbors are invited to be outside to cheer for their Foxcroft Swim Team.
- Tuesday: Ice Cream and a Movie
- 6:30PM -8:30PM Pink Mama's ice cream truck in the pool parking lot.
- 8:45PM Movie night on the field. Bring your chair/blanket. Parents please plan to stay to ensure safety and social distancing.
- Wednesday: Dunk Booth
- Swimmers are invited to come dunk their coaches (7 PM Group 1, 7:30 Group 2, 8 PM Group 3)
- Thursday: Pizza Pump Up
- 6PM Pizza Pump Up picnic style on the field. Since we cannot have a pot-luck Pasta Pump Up this year, we will have a pizza night. Be on the lookout for a signup for Little Caesars pizza orders or bring your own. Water, Capri Sun, and Ice Cream Sandwiches will be provided. Bring your own chair/blanket.
- Friday: Pool Parking lot decorating
- Bring your own chalk to decorate the parking lot after morning practices.
- Divisionals Fairies - late Friday evening the fairies will leave gifts at the home of all swimmers participating in Divisionals.
Blue Division Meet: The meet will start at 9 AM. More details will come this week regarding set-up, warm-up, parade times, etc. The coaches have begun choosing events for swimmers, but they are not yet finalized. Additionally, relay teams are chosen based on times, and they can change at any time before or even during the meet. We realize it is confusing and can be upsetting when a last minute change is made. Please warn your swimmers that this change is possible.
Banquet: The swim team banquet will be Monday July 20th at 6PM. Tom's BBQ pre-order will be available. (Rain date Tuesday.) Banquet will be on the field this year. Bring your chairs/blanket. We will also collect contributions for the season-end coaches’ gift at the banquet.
Swimmers’ Times: There has been some confusion with swimmers’ times in the Swimtopia App. This is due to Foxcroft being a yard pool and most SAIL pools being meter pools. In the June 12 email, we attempted to explain this and how you can view the times converted into both yards or meters. If you are particularly interested in the math, here is an article that explains swimming conversions.
